We've returned to the studio after weeks of work in Shenzhen with our manufacturer on the first batch of samples. This means, we have parts from various vendors coming together to build each unit. From electronics, validation, to testing at different noise levels, we've got it all here.
PROGRESS ON ELECTRONICS
In the past two months we have gone through multiple iterations of our PCBAs, and have tested and validated the changes at every step. This is a standard process for the electronics, where at every stage the engineers test for potential points of failure, interferences, and durability of the design. They also test to ensure the circuitry meets emission standards for CE certification.
TESTS, TESTS AND MORE TESTS!
With parts and materials coming together from different vendors, there is a wide range of elements to keep an eye on to ensure performance and quality. Our team is conducting a number of tests on all of these elements, including: the performance of the silent pump, the unit’s power consumption, its silent operation, microphone and circuitry sensitivity, pressure limit of the inflatable pieces, the look and finish of our soft goods, and so on.
Our tests follow an extensive QA checklist and form the basis of the QA process, which will then be implemented for assembly in the production line.
